Thermal lamination film is commonly used in the printing and packaging industry to protect and enhance the appearance of printed materials. It is a multi-layer film, usually composed of a base film and an adhesive layer(what EKO use is EVA). The adhesive layer is activated by heat during the lamination process, creating a strong bond between the film and the printed material.

1.Feature of the printings
Firstly, we should know the feature of the printing products. Some printing materials have a high water content, if we use the traditional heat lamination film for laminating, there is a higher probability of curling due to the high laminating temperature. Using low temperature pre-coating film is a good solution to this problem. However, for the digital printings which are with thick ink and much silicone oil, it’s suggested to use digital super sticky thermal laminated film.
2.Desired effect
According to the appearance requirements of the printings, select the appropriate gloss, texture and color characteristics. For adding leather, hairline, glitter, ten cross embossing effect, we can choose embossing thermal laminating film）; For adding a metallic look for printings, we can choose metalized heat lamination film; For adding velvety feeling, we can choose soft touch thermal lamination film.
3.Cost
The price of pre-coated film varies, and it is necessary to choose the right thermal lamination film according to the value of the product and the budget. Sometimes a high quality pre-coating can provide better protection, but there is also a need to consider cost effectiveness.
